Ever wanted a quick beach escape from Manila that's not too far away? Well, let me tell you about our recent trip to Camaya Coast in Mariveles, Bataan.
It's got it all: ferry rides, bus adventures, stunning mountain and beach views, cool pools, and even a bar!
I joined my friend and her family, who were checking out property at Camaya Coast – yes, they sell lots there! Imagine living on a hill with views of the sea on one side and mountains on the other. It's like a dream come true.
Our journey started early, with a meet-up at Mall of Asia at 5:00 am to catch a ferry departing at 6:00 am. The port is near Vikings MOA Seaside Complex. I'm not usually a fan of boat rides, but I braved it for my friend who hadn't been to the Philippines in ages. To my surprise, the ferry was bigger and comfier than expected. The ride, despite a bit of rain, offered an amazing view of Manila's coastline from the bay. It took us nearly 2 hours to reach the FAB Town, Mariveles, Bataan.
Since I arrived early, I had some time to explore. Despite the gloomy weather, the resort had a lot to offer.
Once my friends arrived, we wasted no time hitting the pools. Camaya Coast has an infinity pool by the beach and the star of the show – Aqua Fun!
When the sun finally showed up the next day, we made the most of it.
We strolled along the beach, and even though it wasn't super white, the mocha-colored sand was a pleasant sight.
As they say, time flies when you're having fun. So, we made sure to enjoy our last two days to the fullest. We even checked out the Camaya Residential Lots, where my friend had invested.
Our room at the hotel was comfortable and clean. We had all the essentials – toiletries, coffee, tea – and the bathroom was spotless.
Now, here's the twist: On our last day, we had a bit of a shocker in our room. The electricity was acting up, and the ceiling light actually exploded! Some parts of it fell, but luckily, my friend was okay. We reported it, and although my friend wasn't thrilled with how the management handled it, they did make amends by offering us food and a late checkout until 2:00 pm. Nice save, I'd say.
In conclusion, our stay at Camaya Coast was memorable, but it could use more dining options, especially seafood considering the seaside location. Right now, it's mostly fast food, and it's a bit pricey.
Would I recommend Camaya Coast? Absolutely, especially if you need a quick break from the city. And with the future Bataan-Cavite Bridge on the horizon, it's going to be even more accessible.
